Vital Information About the Digital LSAT from the Law School Admissions Council

Dear Michael,

July 15 is just around the corner — and so is the Digital LSAT! We have been hard at work for years leading up to this milestone, and we are excited to share with you some facts and resources to keep you up-to-date and informed. We encourage you to share this information with your students.

What to expect — launch day and score release. The LSAT’s official transition to digital begins with the July 15 test administration, when approximately half of the test takers will be assigned to take the test on a tablet provided by LSAC, and the rest will take the traditional paper-and-pencil test. In compliance with best practices in educational testing, test takers will not know in advance whether they will be taking the Digital LSAT or the paper-and-pencil version. They will receive their scores on Wednesday, August 28, 2019. The longer-than-normal timeframe to receive scores is due to the in-depth research that must be performed when a new mode of test delivery is introduced. Test takers will have until Wednesday, September 4, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time to decide whether to keep or cancel their scores. If they cancel their July 2019 test scores, they will be able to retake the LSAT at no additional charge through the April 2020 test.

These helpful tips will give you and your students some valuable insights on what to expect on July 15. Internship Opportunities: CUNY Women's Public Service Internship Program

THE CITY UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK WOMEN’S PUBLIC SERVICE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:

The City University of New York is pleased to offer a Fall internship opportunity in New York City for selected students. The Program will be coordinated by the Edward T. Rogowsky Internship Program in Government & Public Affairs and designated officers at each of the City University’s colleges. The CUNY Women’s Public Service Internship Program will provide highly qualified individuals the opportunity to learn by doing in the offices of selected legislators working to benefit women and promote women’s issues in New York.

Applications and Deadlines:
Applications are now available from your Campus Faculty Coordinator or Student Affairs Office, or can be downloaded from the Edward T. Rogowsky Internship Program website at etrinternship.cuny.edu Applications and all supporting materials must be submitted to designated college officers by July 10, 2019!

Eligibility:
The Program is open to any student who has completed 30 credits by the Fall 2019 term. Any major may apply, but students who wish to be considered should demonstrate an interest in public policy and women’s issues in New York. Applicants must carry a 3.0 GPA, and must submit an official transcript, 2 confidential faculty recommendation forms along with their applications. Participants must also possess a valid Social Security Number — issued by the United States Social Security Administration.

Award: 

CUNY will award $2,000 to each eligible student.

Academic Component and College Credit:
Selected participants will earn academic credit by enrolling in a seminar and internship course on their college campus. All credit arrangements should be made prior to the first day of the internship program.

Internship Placements:
Interns will serve up to 15 hours per week during weekday business hours for the duration of the fall semester. Placement will be in the local offices of legislators at the city, state and national levels.
