The University at Buffalo School of Law is offering LSAT Prep Workshops and Practice Test events to help you prepare for the LSAT. Come and learn what skills you’ll need to succeed in getting the best LSAT score possible. All 2021 LSAT Prep events will take place virtually.

LSAT Prep Workshop

Our comprehensive workshop teaches valuable techniques and skills to master the LSAT. Workshops cost $100 and includes instructions with Erin Decker '16 who scored a perfect 180 on the LSAT. Due to high demand, we have scheduled another LSAT Prep Workshop in advance of the June LSAT-Flex:

Be prepared for test day! Learn valuable test-taking strategies. Great Summer Course in Political Science at CSI this Summer; Seats Still Available

 International Politics: In Search of a New World Order; 

Online Asynchronous, Eight Weeks.

4 hours/4 credits

Why do nations go to war?  How do nation-states and international organizations address the threat of international terrorism?  What is the U.N., and how does it work? What are transnational social movements and how do they matter?  This course provides students with the background and conceptual tools necessary for understanding international politics and international relations. Students will learn about competing theories of international relations and how to apply those theories to major events in world history (such as world wars) and pressing contemporary issues in global politics (such as climate change).  

(SOCIAL SCIENCE) (Pathways: Contemporary World). Prerequisites: ENG 151 AND any Pathways US Experience in its Diversity course. Prerequisites may be waived upon request.  Please Note: This course satisfies the college option.

Dr. Higer is an experienced online teacher who was certified to teach online after a semester-long course at Rutgers, New Brunswick, in 2015.

Victory Institute Internship Program for LGBTQ college students

 Apply to the Fall 2021 LGBTQ Victory Congressional Internship! 

  

The Victory Institute is recruiting outstanding LGBTQ college students for a 10-week  intensive leadership program, including a Congressional internship with an LGBTQ-friendly member of Congress, weekly leadership development, and mentorship. The program includes a generous stipend, housing in D.C., and travel to/from Washington, as well as travel and registration to the International LGBTQ Leaders Conference in December 2021.  We expect the Fall program to occur in-person.  

 

The Victory Congressional Internship is open to current undergraduate students of all genders, orientations, abilities, races, and political affiliations, including people with majors other than political science.

Council on Legal Educational Opportunity (CLEO): Free Summer Program, Deadline to Apply Extended to May 10

The Council on Legal Education Opportunity (CLEO) is excited about our summer plans and wants to share our news with you.

First, the CLEO 2021 Pre-Law Summer Institute (PLSI) Registration deadline has been extended to Monday, May 10 at 11:59pm PT.  The PLSI will be held virtually May 24 -July 1 and Penn State Dickinson Law will host this key CLEO program.

Second, CLEO’s two-day intensive 1L Prep for students entering law school – Attitude Is Essential (AIE) program will be held exclusively online.  

Applicants to the AIE program can vie for a $500 Vernon E. Free Pre-Law Opportunity at New York Law School This Summer

 

Pre-Law Pipeline Program for Summer 2021 Dear Pre-Law Advisors, The deadline for our Summer Pre-Law Pipeline Program has been extended and expanded to include rising seniors! Please encourage your students interested in law school to send in their applications below by May 7, 2021. Our Summer Pre-Law program is designed to provide students from underrepresented communities with a dedicated set of opportunities to explore the law and create a pathway to earn their J.D. degree at NYLS. Participants in the Summer Pre-Law Program attend courses at NYLS for two consecutive summers if they are a rising Junior, or one summer for rising Seniors. The program is open to rising college juniors and seniors. NYLS works directly with undergraduate partner institutions to identify candidates, and the inaugural class included approximately 25 students. As part of the program, NYLS checks in with participating students throughout their junior and senior years and provides them with law school-related resources. The curriculum, which includes four hours of class per day, four days a week, was developed and taught by NYLS’s faculty. It includes these topics:   Is Studying Law for You? Developing Characteristics of the Successful Law Student Developing Law School Thinking Skills: Thinking about meaning Reading for comprehension Putting your thoughts into words with precision Reasoning by syllogism Reasoning by analogy Introduction to Legal Method Written Legal Communication Professional Development Project-Based Capstone Preparing for the LSAT   The Project-Based Capstone represents the culmination of students’ work during each summer session and will engage students in simulated arguments on behalf of a “client.”  It is free to participate in the Summer Pre-Law Program.
