One-year, online, certificate in immigration law and advocacy, Villanova Law School (Philadelphia)

I suspect that many of you are thinking about how to advise students about what to do next year.  Some students may be considering putting off law school for a year or taking a gap year.  I wanted to let you know about a new online certificate program I spearheaded in immigrant advocacy.  I have spent the last two years designing and testing the curriculum.  I'm really excited about it - the feedback from the beta testers has been really positive and their work product is stellar, so it looks like they are learning what we want them to.  The curriculum is very holistic and involves a lot of active learning - skills taught range from interviewing through trial advocacy.  And the tuition is very reasonable - it is $1270 per semester, $3,810 for the entire one-year program.

I designed the curriculum with a team of consultants, including leading immigration law practitioners, law professors, professors from other disciplines, a retired immigration law judge and prospective students.  The course is 100% and asynchronous.  I've been a law professor for twenty years and worked into this program everything I wish my law students could learn to become effective advocates.
