Hello. I am writing to pass along a message from Maxwell Velikodny, President of the CSI Pre-Law Club.  Thank you, Maxwell, for all that you do for us. MP

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are all doing well. Firstly, I want to apologize for the infrequent emails from the club regarding events, internships, or meetings. Truthfully, I have been pretty tied up with law school applications and familial obligations. Nevertheless, the club will be fully committed to sending frequent updates from now on!

Updates:

  1. The Pre-Law Society is currently organizing a virtual event(s) later in the semester—likely early December—where several lawyers will participate and provide their insights. I am committed to getting someone that specializes in immigration law and intellectual property law since those seemed to be the primary interest this semester. Nevertheless, I will also ask judges, civil and criminal attorneys, and lawyers in the business profession.
  2. Below are some internships that are connected to the law or have some intersection:

Ultimately, have an open mind. Legal internships are out there, but you have to look for them. I highly suggest LinkedIn, Indeed.com, and plain ol’ Google. Trust me, it will be worth your time.

  1. Columbia Law School has invited the Pre-Law Society to attend “Connecting the Dots: From Pre-Law to the Legal Profession.” I highly advise those of you interested in becoming a lawyer to attend as the event will certainly provide valuable insights.

Columbia Law School,
CLS Black Law Students Association, and
