$2,500 summer scholarships for students entering law school in September

CLEO, the Council on Legal Education Opportunity, Inc., is pleased to announce that we will award a $2500 CLEO EDGE Pre-Law Scholarship to 24 participants of the 2019 Pre-Law Summer Institute (PLSI).  More information about the scholarship can be found here:  https://cleoinc.org/programs/plsi/For those college seniors interested in attending law school in fall 2019, CLEO’s Pre-Law Summer Institute prepares students for the rigors of the first year of law school.  The application opens February 15 and closes March 30.  Scholarship winners will be announced in mid-April.  

CLEO and its programs have launched the careers of thousands such as judges, attorneys, academicians, general counsels, and politicians.  

As one of the nation’s most respected and recognized organizations supporting diversity in legal education, CLEO’s mission for the past 50 years  has been to expand opportunities for persons from traditionally under-represented racial and ethnic groups, low-income, and disadvantaged communities”and promote their successful entry into the legal profession.

CSI Student Government Funds (up to $400) for law school application costs

The College of Staten Island Student Government Graduate School Assistance Fund encourages and assists graduating CSI students interested in applying to graduate school.  The fund awards students with a maximum of $400 towards the costs of application fees, test taking fees, test preparation courses and textbooks (GRE, MCAT, LSAT, GMAT). The fund cannot be used towards tuition payments.

The fund is open to all currently enrolled students at CSI with a minimum 3.0 GPA and who are paying the Student Activity Fee. 

APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL THE DEADLINE OF MAY 31, 2019 OR UNTIL FUNDS ARE DEPLETED. The fund is distributed on a first come, first serve basis. 

Your application must include a short, biographical statement which outlines how the funding, if awarded, will be spent. 

All completed applications are to be submitted to the Center for Career and Professional Development, Room 1A-105, attention Caryl Watkins. 

Check(s) will be made out directly to the appropriate school and/or program. In the event that the student pays the cost, reimbursement to the student will be made only with a valid receipt of payment.
