FORECLOSURE PREVENTION PARALEGAL 

STATEN ISLAND LEGAL SERVICES

           

Staten Island Legal Services (across the street from the ferry) seeks a paralegal for its Homeowner Defense Project.  The job involves working with low-income people facing foreclosure and other risks to homeownership, interviewing them about their individual situations, gathering documents to support their cases, and working with lawyers to modify mortgage loans and save homes. The paralegal will have substantial client contact as well as their own clients.

 

            Qualifications include:

Ø  Excellent interviewing, writing, and communication skills;

Ø  Experience working with low-income people preferred;

Ø  College degree or commensurate experience;

Ø  Excellent organizational skills;

Ø  Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Salary determined by Collective Bargaining Agreement.  Excellent benefit package.
